The Background
The King’s Academy in Woodstock, GA is a member of the GICAA (Georgia Independent Christian Athletic Association). This season, they have a solid group returning with a lot of skilled guards. Senior guards Bryce & Hamilton Walker (twins) set the pace on offense and the tone on defense. Senior forward Trey Watson is a skilled 6’7 forward who can play inside, outside, and also run the floor in transition. Brock Hoover, Caden Palmer & Robert Foushee and three talented juniors who round out a solid rotation for the Knights. Last year, the Knights had their ninth straight 20-win season; capped by a trip to the NACA National Championship game where they fell short 63-58 to New Life (Fayetteville, NC).
Moving into this season, the Knights wanted to test themselves with a tough schedule to prepare them for another shot at the NACA National Title. Thus far on the young season, the Knights have posted a 4-0 record due to solid pressure defense and a balanced offense. On November 3rd, they won the Southeast Regional Tip-Off Tournament at Suwanee Sports Academy. Currently, they have seven players averaging more than 7PPG. In their most recent game, they defeated Central GA 105-47 behind Hamilton Walker’s 37 point, 12 rebound & 8 assist effort.
