2021 Andrew McConnell (Lanier)

McConnell is one of the guards in GA that should really see his recruitment take an uptick as we head into July.  He was a huge part of Lanier High School’s State tournament run this year that culminated in a State Championship game appearance while being named All Region and All State.  McConnell has one of the best handles in GA and has the ability to take and make tough shots as good as anyone in the State especially from 3 where he has a variety of different step backs, he uses to create space (100 made 3’s on season).  His added strength and filling out of his upper body over the last year has made him much more adept to getting into the paint and finishing through contact.  Don’t be surprised to hear his name a lot this summer.

2021 Devin McGlockton (South Forsyth)

Coaches always talk about multi-sport athletes and if 6’6 Devin McGlockton doesn’t fit that mold then I am not quite sure who does.  A standout on both the gridiron and the hardwood McGlockton is going to be able to have his pick of what he wants to do at the next level if not both.  As a junior this year he averaged 18ppg/10rpg and has career surpassed 1125pts/622reb/141blks in his varsity career.  He does everything you want for a player at his position-runs the floor, has great hands, finishes through contact at the rim, puts the ball on the floor and can attack, rebounds on both ends.  In our two outings watching McGlockton this season he has shown to be a viable 3point threat from the top of the key, if this part of his game keeps expanding watch out!

Career Accolades:

2021 Kyle Duncan (Centennial)

Duncan really started to break on the seen for me last June at the GHSA Team Camp and he rode that success all the way through to his Junior Campaign in which he was named 2nd Team All Region after averaging 13.8ppg/8.8rpg/4.4apg/2.2spg/1.2bpg leading the team in all statistical categories outside of points per game.  The gym rat saw his scoring average jump 10ppg from his sophomore campaign.  Duncan’s ability to fill the full box score is what we really love the most with a member of our staff watching him come up big at the Big South Shootout in a win over Holy Innocents’ dropping 11pts,13reb,4ast,3stls.
