Players to Track: March 29th, 2020

Editor’s Note:  With the current situation of limited recruiting/exposure opportunities for players throughout the Nation, our Owner/Director Dr. Kris Watkins will be posting ongoing articles and players to watch multiple times each week.  Feel free to send us any info on players on either of our twitter accounts at @DrKrisWatkins or @SHReport

2021 RJ Noord (Heritage)

The 6’4 Point Guard was All Region and All State prospect this season as a Junior.  Noord is one of GA’s top point guard prospects who really begin breaking out this past past summer heading into his Junior campaign.  He has a shifty handle he uses to get by defenders without wasting dribbles and is always in attack mode with the ball in his hands and gets into the paint almost at ease where he can stop and finish in the mid-range or finish at the basket with either hand/unselfishly drop it off to an open teammate.  Noord is a lights out shooter from 3 especially in catch and shoot situations or off the dribble with his pull up from his left hand. Noord will be playing with Aim High Basketball during the travel season and after avg over 20ppg as a Junior he will be a name coaches nationally should be tracking.

2021 Elijah Tucker (Cherokee)

Watching the 6’7 Tucker this year during his Junior season he seems to have put it all together with his overall improvement being as much as any player in the state. Tucker found his motor this season and became a true inside threat. Whereas as a sophomore I felt like Tucker settled too much for outside jumpers, now his inside footwork and scoring ability at the rim makes his perimeter skill set a true plus making him an inside outside threat on a nightly basis.  Tucker is a difficult matchup for opposing coaches to scheme against because his perimeter skill set makes it difficult for opposing 4 men to guard him on the wing and his size combined with at rim finishing ability and turn around jumpers makes it difficult for opposing 3 men to guard him.

2021 Jackson Greene (Lambert)

Standing at 6’6 Greene is a versatile player that plays either forward position and was an important part of Lambert’s success this season.  After a great Junior campaign when he avg 10ppg/6rpg I expect those numbers to take a huge jump during his season campaign with the departure of Colin Granger (Ohio) and Luke Champion (Samford).  Green has a high motor and is continually attacking the glass and making plays at the rim. He uses his length to alter shots and being left handed it naturally makes him a better defender vs opposing players in the post.  Green has shown he has the ability to hit the open 3 as well as attack the rim from the perimeter, especially when he can get a head of steam attacking downhill with his left hand. Jackson is poised for a big summer and is a relentless worker who is always striving to get better that combined with the fact he plays for one of GA’s top coaches in Scott Bracco I wouldn’t be surprised to see him being one of the top players in Forsyth County next season.

2022 Keylan Rutledge (Franklin County)

Standing at 6’4 Rutledge is one of my favorite players in the state to watch play.  During his sophomore campaign he averaged 12ppg/10rpg.  Rutledge has great hands with a soft touch around the rim and is a versatile passer/playmaker.  Plays with loads of energy and passion on a nightly basis and with the departure of a number of players from Coach Shaver’s team at Franklin this year Rutledge will look to be one of their go to players next season and one of the top players in North Georgia.
