The Background
The Lambert Lady Longhorns lost 3 All-County selections during the offseason to graduation, but it hasn’t dampened the hopes for this season at all. Lambert returns 7 players (Katie Carmichael, Ansley Dean, Grace Gomez, Kristen Knaack, Jenny McKenna, McLain Meriam, and Lauren Webb) from last year’s team and adds some talented, hard-working young ladies (Taylor Parrish, Sydney Colin). Lambert will get tested early, but prepare themselves for a very competitive region 5-7A. Lambert lost a scrimmage against a good Alpharetta team and beat Denmark in game 1 last Saturday. This event will provide the Longhorns 3 difficult games against quality opponents and Coach Roy says his team is looking forward to the challenge.
Quote From Longhorn Head Coach Chris Roy
“I am excited with how hard these young ladies have been working so far. I really like the leadership we have received from the Seniors. We look forward to this season and are taking things one day at a time right now. We just want to focus on the process of improving and becoming closer as a team over the next few months.”
