#CherokeeForsythClassic: Standout Prospects Part 1

2022 Elijah Chol (Forsyth Central)

Standing at 6’10 he is one of GA’s best long term prospects whose offensive game has really rounded into form over the last 6 months.  Looks much more comfortable attacking the rim from the perimeter. Made a number of jab and attacks off the bounce getting all the way to the rim in 1-2 dribbles.  His aggressiveness was through the roof,  Nice jumphook inside shooting over left shoulder   His size and length make him a constant threat on the defensive end especially as a help side defender and his frame has plenty of room to add weight when he gets to the college level.  RUNS THE FLOOR just looks fluent on offense.  Long term potential is through the roof. .  His quickness is going to make him a high level ball screen defender at next level.

2022 Drew Vajda (Creekview)

Quick release have to know where he is at all times on defense.  Comfortable shooting it off the catch or off the dribble.  Hit 5 3’s in the first half that helped Creekview have a 10 pt lead at halftime.  Comfortable putting it on the deck when crowded at 3 and looks for his step back.  His ability to shoot opens up his drives where he looks for his floater in the paint .  Hit a huge 3 w/ 4 minutes left in 4th from NBA range as a trail player to put Creekview up 46-43.  Had offensive rebound put back for 3 point play with 2:48 left then knocked down a corner 3 with 2:06 left in the game.

2022 Jared Russo (River Ridge)

Started the game with a ferocious dunk off a drop off. Had a few nice jump hooks in the paint.  Doesn’t force it when he gets it inside does a good job of passing out of the post finding open teammates for wide open looks from 3.  Looked comfortable shooting the 3 from the top of the key.  Great frame to bang inside every time down the floor   Efficient when he gets the ball inside.  Soft touch in the paint.
