By: Dr. Kris Watkins

2024 Caden Goins-Central Gwinnett

Left-handed wing/forward who excels on the defensive end especially as a help side defender blocking numerous shots on the day.  Jumper looks smooth and consistent in skill stations.  Really excels at finishing in transition.  Has shown in numerous occasions his ability to play out of the mid post with his square up and turnaround jumper.

2024 Jaden Baskin-Winder Barrow

Really good frame. Blocked and altered shots all day on the defensive end.  High motor that keeps him active on the offensive glass for put backs. Was one of the most productive players continually beating his defenders up the floor for easy buckets. Showed ability to put it on the floor from the high post and attack the basket effectively.

2024 Julian Finch-Mill Creek

Gets downhill especially in transition. Has great instincts on the defensive end especially in transition where he blocked multiple shots. You can see how hard he has worked to improve since attendig our last camp he attended in the summer. Shot it very well in skills stations and in games. Should be a breakout senior year for him at Mill Creek.

2025 Marcus Smith-Walnut Grove

Great North to South speed in transition. Effortlessly blows by his defenders in the half court, doesn’t waste dribbles use his first step to get his hip by his defender and into the paint. Explosive off 2 feet or 1 foot once he gets in the lane and can finish through contact.  Unselfish when the ball is in his hands who creates for his teammates, does a really good job finding cutting teammates.  Has really shown improvement in his outside jumper over the last year and makes defenders pay if the attempt to go under ball screens which makes him even more potent on the offensive end of the floor.

SEBA Top Performers https://southernhoopsreport.com/seba-top-performers/ Wed, 27 Sep 2023 12:53:03 +0000 https://southernhoopsreport.com/?p=3330 Marietta, GA – The SEBA Fall All Star Shootout has been a staple on the basketball scene in Atlanta for the last 20 years and this year’s event was filled with talent.

By: Dr. Kris Watkins

2024 Corey Gatlin II-Berkmar

High level facilitator who finds teammates in the half court, but really stands out in ability to push the tempo. If you get out and run he will find you the type of player wings/bigs should want to play with due to his unselfishness.  Extremely effective in ball screen settings turning corner and getting to the rim or using change of pace to set up while his big man rolls to the basket.

2024 Sha’Yah Goba-Mount Vernon

In a camp setting where kids often times get tired his motor was going all day even after playing fall league games prior to coming to camp.  Active on the glass, especially the offensive end of the floor.  Knows how to play in ball screen sets making right decision when to pop and when to dive.  Made a number of plays on the defensive end. Really like his upside for the collegiate level.

2024 Gabe Bolden-North Cobb Christian

Pull up jump shot has always been his calling card but really liked his ability to get into the paint and finish at the rim through contact. He can ring off 10+ points in a blink of an eye.  Relentless on the ball defender making it difficult for opposing point guards each time down the floor.

2025 Kaiyu Huffman-Kennesaw Mountain

Played with tons of confidence and you can tell he has been working on his game. Hit a number of 3’s.  He has really improved his handle and showed the ability to get by his defender. Distributed the ball well. Had a really good and one finish through contact during the 3rd game of the day.

2024 Joshua Langefels-Denmark

Everything seems to really be clicking for him now, he has really improved the consistency on his jump shot to go with his already proven athleticism which makes him so good in the full court and on the defensive end of the floor.  A player who is constantly in the gym to get better is really poised for a big senior season for Coach Daniel Bowles.

2024 Cassius Watkins-Maynard Jackson

He made a conscious effort today to get his teammates involved early and passed it as well as I have seen him. The left handed sniper can really get to the rim and draw fouls as he has proven throughout the HS/Travel season. Does a really good job finishing off 2 feet and being under control when he gets into the paint.

2024 Cole Buker-Mt. Bethel

Can tell he has worked on his body over the last year.  Does all the little things (sets screens/rebounds) to help his team win. Has ability to hit the spot up 3.  Has shown the ability to put it on the floor and attack against less able footed big men.  Has a soft touch in the paint and has a nice jump hook when he catches with his back to basket.

2025 Connor Teasley-Peachtree Ridge

One of the top scorers at the camp and this is pretty much something you can say about him anytime he steps into the gym.  Is always in attack mode on offense end of the floor.  Having watched him for quite a long time coming to the On The Radar Hoops Events I stood next to him before one of the games and he has gotten noticeably taller standing at 6’2 now and is adding some size to his frame.  Does a really good job of driving hard and stopping on a dime for his pull up jumper.  Shoots it exceptionally well from 3. When he gets into the paint he can score on a variety of floaters/runners consistently.

2024 Carter Galbreath-Mount Paran

Had a good 3rd game of the day moving without the ball and cutting.  Communicates on defense and looks to find the open man and keeps possessions alive on the offensive glass.  Had several nice finishes in transition.

2024 Lazarus Mason-Grayson

Breaks players down off the dribble, has a variety of moves to get his shot off.  When his feet are set from 3, he generally doesn’t miss often.  Has a nice step back game and is a crafty finisher inside.  Depending on who is on his team he can serve as a facilitator due to his 1 on 1 ability to get past his defender and kick it out or get his own shot.

2024 Andrew LaVigne-South Paulding

High Academic/High level shooter is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about LaVigne but where he really stood out was in individual half court session with a few baseline drives and in games he showed his explosive finishing in the full court setting.  Averaged 16ppg/6rpg last year during a All County level campaign as a Junior and his ability to score the basketball in catch in shoot situations or off the dribble pull ups is what makes him stand out to coaches.
