#MaconDreamsComeTrue Standouts

Saturday March 9th

Coach Corry Black’s #MaconDreamsComeTrue Showcase brought together some of Middle/South Georgia’s best available prospects and underclassman all together to compete in front of a number of college coaches and Media that included FreshmanU, HypeSouth, and many others.  We will touch on some of the top prospects we saw below

2019 Malik Battle (Alexander)

Battle is one of the top available prospects in the Peach State.  To put it simply, he is a bucket getter.  Battle continually showed his ability to create his own shot off the dribble and get into the midrange and score off the bounce from 3.  Outside of his scoring ability we really liked his decision making in ball screen situations and his willingness to pitch the ball up in transition, you don’t always see these type of things in a player that can score as good as he does.

2019 Devin Bell (Creekside HS)

After a great showing in the individual setting Bell put his scoring prowess on display in the full court matchups.  He hit a number of 3’s off the dribble and did not hesitate to get into the lane.

2021 Javian Mosley (Westside HS)

Honestly when I watched Mosley’s first game I had not looked at the packet and figured he was a 2019 and thought he would be a steal for someone this late.  When I found out he was a 2021 I was sold that he is going to be a BIG TIME prospect that we are going to hear a lot about over the next two years.  The left handed 6’4 wing can do a little bit of everything on the offensive end of the floor that allows him to fill the stat sheet.  Really liked his aggressiveness in attacking the rim in transition and the half court.  Shot the ball well from 3 too.

2019 Javez Lumpkin

2021 Kowacie Reeves Jr. (Westside HS)

This was my first time seeing ’21 6’5 Kowacie Reeves Jr. after hearing alot about him over the last 2 years.  I walked away very impressed with his ability to score the ball and length to disrupt on defense.  He is a big time shooter from 3 and has the length and explosiveness to finish at the rim.

2019 Jaiden Diamond (South Cobb HS)

Diamond had an outstanding career for Coach Moultrie at South Cobb.  He is an explosive guard who makes plays in transition.  What stands out about him the most is his ability to guard on the defensive end and block shots from the guard position.  He did a great job of directing the team on offense and putting his teammates in positions to score.

2019 Jaden Young
