2020 Jacob Radaker (Jefferson) vs 2020 Varun Danak (Brookwood)

The matchup I was excited to watch early in the day was 2020 6’8 Jacob Radaker vs 2020 6’7 Varun Danak and neither player disappointed. Radaker has been a consistent player for Jefferson for awhile including being named all region as a sophomore after averaging 12.5ppg/7.6rpg. He did a great job of catching it inside and feeling his defender before asking his move. He is especially good at establishing his post position, He continually went at Brookwoods interior players all game long. He does a very good job running the floor and altering shots at the rim.

This is the second time we have seen Danak this season and he is a “sleeper” prospect if there ever was one. He was a sparingly used piece for Brookwood last season and has become one of their most important players this year. He came out especially aggressive to start the game putting the ball on the floor attacking from the rim when he caught it on the perimeter. What really stood out is that he put the ball on the deck attacking to his left which is something he didn’t do a few weeks ago. If he keeps getting better he is going to be a problem all year for his opponents because he is a threat to shoot out to 15ft forcing his defender to come out and defend him Danak.  Danak’s biggest play of the game was his go ahead and 1 finish with under a minute left in the 4th quarter.  He finished with 21pts/8rebounds/3stls

2019-6’7 Armani Harris-Newton (GA)

Had 39 points/11rebounds and tore down the rim all game long with rim rattling dunks. What stands out the most though is his touch and his ability to convert for easy points at the free throw line (he made 20 free throws in the game). Harris also looked comfortable around the 3point line on offense, but he is at his best in pick and roll situations are as a dump off man at the rim with his great hands and relentless finishing ability at the basket.

2022 Jameel Rideout-Duluth (GA)

Rideout was HUGE for the Duluth Wildcasts off the bench in their matchup with East Hall. He brought consistent energy and got the team going when he checked in. The young gun got a steal out of the press and scored and hit a pull up in the first half and hit a huge 3 in the second half.

2020 Braxton Beaty-Lambert (GA)

One thing that always stands out when you see Beaty play is his aggressiveness at getting to the rim. He really did a great job attacking throughout the game and continually got to the rim in the second half. He also does a great job on the defensive end and on the offensive glass. He does a really good job creating his own shot off the dribble and getting into the midrange and especially lethal on offense in transition. He has shown he can play either guard position and be successful.  Beaty finished with 20 points on the night.

2020 Zion Wimby-Mill Creek (GA)

We first watched Wimby at our #SHReportElite150 in October and we thought he had a chance to have a big Junior Season. What we really liked from him on Saturday was his ability to stretch the floor from 3 and his ability to score at the rim in transition. The long lefty plays with a great deal of passion and enthusiasm that is fun to watch.
